Woman of actionIn September 2008, Shondra and Karl attended a meeting at Doolittle Community Center. They, like their neighbors and friends who attended the meeting, were curious as to why F Street was being closed. At the meeting, they met a woman named Trish Geran. Ms. Geran, a writer, teacher and activist, invited them to join a group of neighbors to petition the City of Las Vegas to stop the closure of this street. Soon thereafter, the Stop the F Street Closure, LLC, was born. This began Shondra's journey into activism. (Follow this link to learn more about the fight to reopen F Street)
Whether you agree with the cause to reopen F Street or not, one thing cannot be denied; Shondra will stand for and with her community. She is not afraid to speak truth to power. Assembly District 6 deserves a strong leader who will not be afraid to stand and work hard for our community. |
